Avalanche up 3-1 after another win over Lightning

The Colorado Avalanche have the upper hand in the series against the Tampa Bay Lightning in the NHL Final, after winning 3-2 (0-1, 1-1, 1-0, 1-0) on road in overtime. Colorado leads the series by 3-1 games, and only needs one more win to clinch the series.

The game-winning goal was scored by Colorado's Nazem Kadri.

The Lightning opened strong, right at the beginning of the game with Anthony Cirelli scoring in the first minute, assisted by Erik Cernak.

Nathan MacKinnon scored early into the second period, assisted by Mikko Rantanen and Cale Makar, to give the Avalanche the lead.

Lightning's Victor Hedman scored a goal halfway through in the second, assisted by Jan Rutta, increasing the lead to 2-1 for the Lightning.

In the third period, Andrew Cogliano then scored three minutes into the third period, assisted by Nico Sturm and Darren Helm, to tie the game. With this goal, the score was tied and then, the game went to overtime.

Tampa Bay is now 1–0–0, while Colorado improves to 3–0–0.

The teams play each other again for Game 5 on Friday, June 24 at 8 p.m.
