Film Room: Joakim Kemell is one of the 2022 NHL Draft's best finishers, and there could be more in store at the NHL level
Anyone who's been following Finnish hockey for the last little while is going to be familiar with Joakim Kemell. He's been on the radar for quite some time now.
Like pretty much every top prospect, Kemell has always played way up his age group, playing his first season with JYP’s U16 team as a 13-year-old back in the 2017–2018 season. Two years later, he was already close to a point-per-game player in the U18 circuit and the top dog for Finland internationally in his age group.
During his draft-minus-one campaign, Kemell topped JYP’s mediocre U20 team in both goals and points by a wide margin as one of the youngest players on the team, earning himself a rather sizeable role at the U18s as Finland’s only underaged forward. At last August’s Hlinka-Gretzky Cup, Kemell was one of the top scorers
