Julian Lutz was born on February 29, 2004, in Weingarten (northeast of Ravensburg in Baden-Württemberg) and was developed by EV Ravensburg and at the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy in Salzburg. In the 2020-21 season, the 6-foot-2, and 190-pound forward made his professional debut in the ICEHL for EC Red Bull Salzburg. In the 2021-22 season, the 18-year-old then made his debut in the DEL with EHC Red Bull Munich, producing one goal and two assists in 14 games.
