What We Learned: San Jose Sharks putting themselves behind the 8-ball

Any time you’re making a major organizational change well after everyone else has finished doing so, that’s not putting yourself in a position to succeed.

The San Jose Sharks are currently doing that on two fronts. Their interim general manager, Joe Will, has been in that position since early April, and yet his replacement has not yet been named. Meanwhile, the brain trust currently running the Sharks made the decision just this past Friday morning to relieve Bob Boughner of his position as the team's head coach, after every other team in the league had officially wrapped its coaching search.
