2022 NHL Entry Draft

Film Room: Why Cutter Gauthier is one of the 2022 NHL Draft's late-risers

Cutter Gauthier had a monster season with 93 points in 76 games, and as a result, the NTDP forward has seen a meteoric rise up draft rankings.

Gauthier’s value to his team extended far beyond his scoring touch. The Boston College commit offered stability on the penalty kill and a high-end motor that seemed to be infectious on his line. Gauthier’s strength and puckhandling ability are also high-end, allowing him to create time and space for himself in small areas. On top of that, he’s got a fantastic shot and the versatility to release from almost any position, making him a serious scoring threat.

Let’s take a closer look at some of the skills that have made Cutter Gauthier a strong candidate for a top-10 pick in this year’s draft.
