Scout's Roundtable: Our favourite selections at the 2022 NHL Draft
We won't know the fate of the players taken in last week's draft for another three, four, maybe even five-plus years in some cases, but we can definitely make some educated guesses about what their future might hold in the meantime.
And with those guesses, we can form a pretty good idea of which teams made the most of the draft capital available to them and which teams, well, didn't.
You could already make some educated guesses for yourself on that front, though, by checking out our final ranking in the Elite Prospects 2022 NHL Draft Guide or in David St-Louis and Mitch Brown's draft grades article in the immediate aftermath of the draft. Hell, you can even read my article on the winners and losers of Day 1 if you want to look at the first round in isolation.
So, I decided to shake things up a bit, and instead ask each individual scout to highlight some of their favourite picks in this year's draft. We'll draw from our own assessments rather than the Elite Prospects board for this one, too. If nothing else, it'll be a fun exercise that showcases where we each stood on some of these players individually rather than as a group.
With that, let's get to it and look at some of the Elite Prospects scouting staff's favourite picks in the 2022 NHL Draft.
