What We Learned: Vegas Golden Knights back in goalie trouble

It wouldn't be a normal month in the NHL if there weren't some big issue settling over the Vegas Golden Knights like a stormcloud.

If it wasn't every star player being injured for a good chunk of last year or the players they gave up to acquire Jack Eichel turning into superstars in Buffalo, it was missing the playoffs and trading Marc-AndrĂ© Fleury to settle the goaltending controversy.

More recently, it was giving up Max Pacioretty and Dylan Coghlan for nothing just to relieve a cap crunch they no longer face because, as we found out last week, Robin Lehner is out for the season.

And so the world spins on, with still more turmoil for a team that was already swimming in deep water when it came to their goaltending situation. And while self-appointed Goalie Guys will tell you that Lehner's style plus his body type plus his age was always going to lead to a lengthy injury/surgery/recovery time, there was still no real way for Vegas to plan for this.
