EP Rinkside 2022 NHL Prospect Pool Rankings: No. 23-ranked New York Islanders

Some savvy picks and the development of a few of their top prospects propelled the New York Islanders' pool from the 31st spot in 2021 to the 23rd position in our ranking. We have seen bigger jumps through the years, but this remains an appreciable gain for a team that didn't prioritize their youth over the past seasons and that is not heading for a full rebuild.

At least not yet.

For the first time since 2019, it feels like the Islanders' fans can look at their team's system and see a few exciting prospects. Aatu Räty and Calle Odelius both have a significant chance of outperforming their draft slots and William Dufour has already shown himself to be worthy of the 152nd overall pick the team used on him. Few prospects come back and lead their league in points after being drafted in the fifth round.

Below, we will break down the top 15 prospects in the pool, analyze their skills, and their overall upside.
