Peter Laviolette, 24, of the Plymouth State University, will now play for the Washington Capitals, according to nhl.com.
Laviolette is 6'4" and weighs 201 lbs.
He scored 11 goals and 26 points in 27 games for the Plymouth State University last season.
Washington Capitals has already signed Simon Motew, and now have 39 players under contract for this season.
