Prospect Pool Rankings

EP Rinkside 2022 NHL Prospect Pool Rankings: No. 21-ranked Vegas Golden Knights

Vegas Golden Knights prospects are in for a good time, not a long time. More often than not, they act as trade currency, greasing the wheels on blockbuster deals that send star players to Sin City for a run at the Stanley Cup.

It's just one of the many ways that a team can leverage a steady hand at the draft. Just about every prospect is a relative long shot, and if you sell at the height of their value while they're in your system then you're coming out on top in those deals more often than not. How's that saying go? A bird in the hand versus two in the bush, and so on.

And even so, the Golden Knights have done such a great job extracting value at the draft with what scant few picks and prospects remain in their war chest that their prospect pool isn't exactly one of the league's have-nots. They have the potential for star power down the middle of their lineup, enviable depth on the blue line, and a pair of sneakily solid-to-good prospects between the pipes.

Whether these players reach their potential in one of the Golden Knights tacky monstrosity jerseys or elsewhere, it's hard to imagine a scenario where there isn't a handful of future NHLers in this group. So, let's take a look at what the future holds.
