EP Rinkside 2022 NHL Prospect Pool Rankings: No. 12-ranked Dallas Stars

The Dallas Stars system was ranked No. 18 only a few short weeks ago, but a well-timed trade for Nils Lundkvist, who remains a top prospect, catapulted them up six spots, even with the graduations of Thomas Harley and Jacob Peterson.

Now, the Stars have top prospects both upfront and on the blue line. Their forwards have plenty of versatility, capable of playing wing and altering their style of play to suit their role.

The Dallas Stars have a type, especially from their forwards. They value displays of intelligence that shine through off-puck action, such as positioning, timing, and supporting reads. Pace of operation is also a major component, especially for their numerous sub-6-feet-tall prospects.

There’s also plenty of depth, with players omitted from this top-15 who could see NHL time as soon as this season.
