EP Rinkside 2022 Prospect Pool Rankings: No. 1-ranked Buffalo Sabres

It's been a long and arduous journey, but we've finally reached the pot of gold (and royal blue) at the end of the proverbial rainbow with the Buffalo Sabres prospect pool checking in as the league's best ahead of the 2022-23 season.

This shouldn’t come as too much of a surprise considering how the Sabres have fared in recent years. The club has become a staple in the lottery process and has had its ball pulled out of the machine last twice in a four-year span.

The Sabres system features a whopping seven players who graced our leaguewide top 100 affiliated skater prospects ranking, with four of them landing in the top 25 spots. This, of course, says nothing of their embarrassment of riches in the crease portion of their pool.

This is a pipeline that is bursting with talent in all positions. You won't have to wait to see many of these players either; you can count on a handful to graduate to the NHL by this season's end. And with their graduation comes the hope that this team can end their forever-rebuild and emerge as a credible playoff contender.

With that, let's take a look at the players who will be tasked with leading that charge in the coming years.
