Scout's Notebook: Checking in on the Gatineau Olympiques drafted prospects in a promising season
The Gatineau Olympiques should be one of if not the best team in the QMJHL this season. They loaded up on high-end talent over the summer with consecutive trades for Olivier Nadeau and Robert Orr, two forwards who provide different but nonetheless desirable skill sets. Their move for Charles-Antoine Pilote will also help solidify their back end for what could be a long run in the playoffs next spring.
This could be the year that the Olympiques break out. Orr and Samuel Savoie both have the talent to put up a boatload of points, and Zach Dean could finally take that next step to the top of the QMJHL leaderboard in scoring with this upgraded supporting cast. Everything's looking up Gatineau.
Below, we will break down the performance of many of the team’s NHL prospects in their first few games of the season.
