Bruins grab extra point against Penguins in overtime

The Pittsburgh Penguins and the visiting Boston Bruins tied 5-5 in regulation on Tuesday. Boston beat Pittsburgh in overtime 6-5.

Boston's Hampus Lindholm scored the game-winning goal.

The hosting Penguins started off strong and took the lead right after the puck drop with Sidney Crosby scoring within the first minute, a goal.

The Bruins tied the game 1-1 in the first period when Charlie Coyle struck, assisted by Trent Frederic and A.J. Greer.

The Bruins took the lead late into the first period when Jakub Lauko scored, assisted by Nick Foligno.

Five goals were scored in the second period, and the Penguins led 5-3 going in to the third period.

The Bruins narrowed the gap again halfway through the third period when Pavel Zacha found the back of the net, assisted by Hampus Lindholm and Brandon Carlo.

The Bruins tied the score 5-5 with 01.16 remaining of the third after a goal from Taylor Hall, assisted by David Pastrnak and Hampus Lindholm.

In overtime, it took 3:36 before Hampus Lindholm scored the game-winner for the road team, assisted by Patrice Bergeron.

With this win the Bruins have six straight victories.

Pittsburgh is now 4–4–2, while Boston improves to 9–1–0.

This means Pittsburgh is still in seventh place and Boston is on top.
