Ducks win in shootout on the road to Sharks

The San Jose Sharks hosted the Anaheim Ducks in what was to be a closely-fought encounter. The game went all the way to a shootout where the road team was the stronger team. The final score was 6-5.

Anaheim has extended their lead in their division to 7 points, while San Jose sits zero points back.

Five goals were scored in the first period, and the Ducks led 3-2 going in to the second period.

The second period ended with the score being tied at 4-4.

Max Comtois took the lead in the middle of the third period, assisted by Troy Terry and Nathan Beaulieu.

Erik Karlsson tied the game 5-5 six minutes later, assisted by Alexander Barabanov and Tomas Hertl.

The Ducks won the game 6-5 in the shootout. Troy Terry provided the decisive penalty shot.

San Jose drops to 3–8–1, while Anaheim improves to 3–6–1.

Looking at the standings, we find San Jose in seventh place, while Anaheim is sixth in the league.
