Kraken win in third period

The Seattle Kraken defeated the Calgary Flames 5-4. The game was tied after two periods, but Seattle pulled away in the third to claim a victory.

Seattle's Matty Beniers scored the game-winning goal.

The Kraken took the lead late into the first period, with a goal from Carson Soucy. Andre Burakovsky and Oliver Bjorkstrand assisted.

Nikita Zadorov scored early in the second period, assisted by Tyler Toffoli and Elias Lindholm.

Nazem Kadri then tallied a goal in the second period, making the score 2-1. MacKenzie Weegar and Christopher Tanev assisted.

Late, the Kraken's Morgan Geekie scored a goal, assisted by Jamie Oleksiak, making the score 2-2.

The Flames took the lead, after only 30 seconds into the third period when Tyler Toffoli scored, assisted by Elias Lindholm.

The Flames increased the lead to 4-2 within the first minute of the third period when Trevor Lewis found the back of the net, assisted by Brett Ritchie.

Daniel Sprong narrowed the gap to 4-3 seven minutes later, assisted by Alexander Wennberg and Oliver Bjorkstrand.

Yanni Gourde tied the game 4-4 three minutes later.

Matty Beniers took the lead two minutes later, assisted by Jordan Eberle.

Calgary is now 5–3–0, while Seattle improves to 5–4–2.

The result means Seattle are in third place, while Calgary is in fifth place.

The teams play their next games on Thursday. The Flames will host the Predators at 9 p.m. at Scotiabank Saddledome, and the Kraken will visit the Wild at 8 p.m. at Xcel Energy Center.
