Significant win for Stars over Kings in top-of-the-standings clash

Two top teams squared off Tuesday, with the home team the Dallas Stars winning against the fourth-placed Los Angeles Kings 5-2.

The hosting Stars took the lead early in the first period, with a goal from Roope Hintz. Jamie Benn and Jason Robertson assisted.

The Stars scored four goals in second period an held the lead 5-2 going in to the second break.

Dallas improves to 6–3–1, while Los Angeles drops to 6–6–0.

The result means Los Angeles are in fourth place, while Dallas is still leading.

On Thursday, the Stars will host the Coyotes at 10 p.m. at ASU Multi-Purpose Arena and the Kings will play against the Blackhawks at 8:30 p.m. at United Center.
