Canucks win against Ducks in overtime
The Vancouver Canucks managed to squeeze out an overtime home win against the Anaheim Ducks, ending 8-5 in the action on Thursday.
The Ducks took the lead late into the first period, with a goal from Troy Terry. John Klingberg and John Gibson assisted.
The Canucks' Bo Horvat tied the game 1-1 with a minute left in the first, assisted by Quinn Hughes and Elias Pettersson.
The Canucks scored two goals in second period an held the lead 3-2 going in to the second break.
Dakota Joshua increased the lead to 4-2 early in the third period, assisted by Jack Studnicka and Nils Aman.
Andrei Kuzmenko increased the lead to 5-2 only seconds later, assisted by Elias Pettersson.
Max Comtois narrowed the gap to 5-3 two minutes later.
The Ducks narrowed the gap again late into the third when Trevor Zegras scored, assisted by John Klingberg and Troy Terry.
Andrei Kuzmenko increased the lead to 6-4 just one minute later, assisted by Tyler Myers and Elias Pettersson.
Two minutes later, Andrei Kuzmenko scored a goal yet again, assisted by Elias Pettersson and Elias Pettersson.
Max Jones narrowed the gap to 7-5 just one minute later, assisted by Nathan Beaulieu and Mason McTavish.
The Canucks increased the lead to 8-5 with 55 seconds remaining of the third after a goal from Bo Horvat.
Vancouver improves to 3–6–2, while Anaheim drops to 3–6–2.
