Golden Knights beat Senators and continue winning run

The game between the Ottawa Senators and the Vegas Golden Knights on Thursday finished 5-4. The result means Vegas has six straight wins.

The visiting Golden Knights opened strong, with Mark Stone scoring in the first minute, a goal.

The Senators tied the game 1-1 early in the first period when Claude Giroux struck, assisted by Alex DeBrincat.

The Golden Knights took the lead with a goal from Reilly Smith halfway through the first, assisted by William Karlsson and Phil Kessel.

The Golden Knights increased the lead to 3-1 with a minute left into the first when Zach Whitecloud scored, assisted by Mark Stone and Jack Eichel.

The second period ended with a 5-3 lead for the Golden Knights.

The Senators narrowed the gap again early into the third period when Tim Stutzle beat the goalie, assisted by Brady Tkachuk.

Ottawa drops to 4–6–0, while Vegas improves to 10–2–0.

This means Ottawa is still in eighth and last place and Vegas is on top.

Both teams will be back in action on Saturday when the Senators host Philadelphia Flyers at 7 p.m. at Canadian Tire Centre and the Golden Knights welcome the Montreal Canadiens at 7 p.m. at Bell Centre.
