Kraken won a clash at the top with Wild

The Seattle Kraken claimed a solid win on the road against the fifth-placed Minnesota Wild on Thursday. The matchup finished 4-0 and was an important stage in the race to the top.

Seattle has extended their lead in their division to 14 points, while Los Angeles sits one point back.

The first period was scoreless, and early in the second period, the Kraken took the lead when Morgan Geekie struck first assisted by Daniel Sprong and Ryan Donato.

Midway through, the Kraken made it 2-0 with a goal from Jamie Oleksiak.

Late, Alexander Wennberg scored a goal, assisted by Daniel Sprong and Oliver Bjorkstrand, making the score 3-0.

In the end the 4-0 came from Alexander Wennberg who increased the Kraken's lead, halfway through the third period. That left the final score at 4-0.

Minnesota is now 5–5–1, while Seattle improves to 6–4–2.

The result means Minnesota are in fifth place, while Seattle is in third place.
