Star-studded Islanders win again in game against Blues
The New York Islanders are very hard to stop at the moment, and against the St Louis Blues on Thursday, they claimed yet another victory. The game finished 5-2 and New York now has five wins in a row.
The hosting team took the lead in the first period, with a goal from Vladimir Tarasenko. Torey Krug and Justin Faulk assisted.
The second period ended with a 4-1 lead for the Islanders.
Robert Thomas narrowed the gap to 4-2 in the third period, assisted by Vladimir Tarasenko and Ivan Barbashev.
The Islanders increased the lead to 5-2 with 01.32 remaining of the third period after a goal from Jean-Gabriel Pageau, assisted by Alexander Romanov. With that the Islanders had turned the game around. That left the final score at 5-2.
St Louis is now 3–6–0, while New York improves to 7–4–0.
New York is now in third place, while St Louis is in eighth and last place.
