Stars win on the road vs. Coyotes

The Dallas Stars bested the Arizona Coyotes 7-2 on Thursday.

The Stars opened strong, with Denis Gurianov scoring in the first minute, a goal assisted by Jani Hakanpää.

The Stars increased the lead to 2-0 early in the first period when Wyatt Johnston opened the scoring.

The Stars increased the lead to 3-0 in the middle of the first when Ty Dellandrea scored, assisted by Miro Heiskanen and Joel Kiviranta.

The Stars increased the lead to 4-0 with a goal from Jason Robertson late into the first, assisted by Joe Pavelski and Roope Hintz.

One goal were scored in the second period, and the Stars led 5-0 going in to the third period.

The Stars increased the lead to 6-0 within the first minute when Jamie Benn scored.

Juuso Valimaki narrowed the gap to 6-1 five minutes later, assisted by Matias Maccelli and Nick Bjugstad.

The Coyotes narrowed the gap again halfway through the third period when Lawson Crouse beat the goalie.

Jani Hakanpää increased the lead to 7-2 six minutes later, assisted by Jamie Benn and Esa Lindell.

Arizona is now 3–6–1, while Dallas improves to 7–3–1.

This means Arizona are in seventh place and that Dallas are at the top of the standings.

The Coyotes host the Washington Capitals in the next game on the road on Saturday at 7 p.m. at Capital One Arena. The same day, the Stars will host the Oilers at 4 p.m. at Rogers Place.
