Significant win for Jets over Blackhawks in top-of-the-standings clash
Two top teams squared off Saturday, with the home team the Winnipeg Jets winning against the fourth-placed Chicago Blackhawks 4-0.
The first period was scoreless, and midway through the second period, the Jets took the lead when Josh Morrissey opened the scoring assisted by Mark Scheifele and Pierre-Luc Dubois.
Adam Lowry then tallied a goal late, making the score 2-0. Dylan DeMelo and Brenden Dillon assisted.
Late, Pierre-Luc Dubois scored a goal, assisted by Kyle Connor and Josh Morrissey, making the score 3-0.
The Jets made it 4-0 when Nate Schmidt beat the goalie, assisted by Cole Perfetti early into the third period. The 4-0 goal was the last one of the game.
Winnipeg improves to 7–3–1, while Chicago drops to 5–5–2.
Chicago are now in fourth place, while Winnipeg is in second place.
