Bruins' winning streak broken by Maple Leafs
The Boston Bruins have enjoyed a great period of success and ahead of the road game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, Boston was on a run of seven straight wins. But, Saturday's game at Scotiabank Arena finished 2-1 and the winning streak was ended.
Toronto's Auston Matthews scored the game-winning goal.
The hosting team took the lead early in the first period, with a goal from Auston Matthews.
Brad Marchand scored early into the second period.
Late, the Maple Leafs' Auston Matthews scored a goal, making the score 2-1.
Toronto improves to 6–4–2, while Boston drops to 10–2–0.
The result means Toronto are in second place, while Boston is still leading. Four points separate the teams.
The Maple Leafs play Carolina away on Sunday at 5 p.m. at PNC Arena. The Bruins will face St Louis at home on Monday at 7 p.m. at TD Garden.
