Kings secure win over Panthers

A close game saw the Los Angeles Kings just edge out the Florida Panthers on Saturday. The final score was 5-4.

Los Angeles' Gabriel Vilardi scored the game-winning goal.

The visiting Panthers took the lead halfway through the first period, with a goal from Ryan Lomberg. Rudolfs Balcers assisted.

Four goals were scored in the second period, and the Kings led 3-2 going in to the third period.

The Panthers tied the score 3-3, after only 17 seconds into the third period when Eetu Luostarinen scored, assisted by Sam Reinhart and Nick Cousins.

The Kings took the lead early in the third period when Blake Lizotte netted one.

Carter Verhaeghe tied the game 4-4 three minutes later.

Gabriel Vilardi took the lead late into the third, assisted by Alexander Edler and Anze Kopitar.

Los Angeles improves to 7–6–1, while Florida drops to 6–5–1.

The result means Los Angeles is now in third place in the standings and Florida is in sixth place.

The Kings host Minnesota on Tuesday at 10:30 p.m. at Crypto.com Arena. The Panthers will face Anaheim on Sunday at 9 p.m. at Honda Center.
