Panthers win in third period

The Florida Panthers defeated the Anaheim Ducks 5-3. The game was tied after two periods, but Florida pulled away in the third to claim a victory.

Florida has extended their lead in their division to 15 points, while Buffalo sits one point back.

The visiting Panthers took the lead halfway through the first period, with a goal from Carter Verhaeghe. Anton Lundell and Aleksander Barkov assisted.

The Panthers increased the lead to 2-0 early into the second period when Brandon Montour beat the goalie, assisted by Aleksi Heponiemi and Anton Lundell.

Ducks' Adam Henrique tallied a goal in the second period, making the score 2-1. Ryan Strome and John Klingberg assisted.

In the second, the Ducks made it 2-2 with a goal from Ryan Strome.

The Panthers took the lead early in the third period when Sam Reinhart netted one, assisted by Ryan Lomberg and Marc Staal.

Sam Bennett increased the lead to 4-2 five minutes later, assisted by Eetu Luostarinen and Brandon Montour.

The Ducks narrowed the gap to 4-3 with 01.18 remaining of the third after a goal from Isac Lundeström.

The Panthers increased the lead to 5-3 with one second remaining of the third after a goal from Sam Reinhart, assisted by Carter Verhaeghe and Brandon Montour. The 5-3 goal was the last one of the game.

Anaheim drops to 4–8–1, while Florida improves to 7–5–1.

The result means Florida are in fifth place, while Anaheim is in sixth place.
