Draft Retrospective: Cody Glass and the quest back to the top-six
Before the season started a video circulated of a meeting between David Poile and Cody Glass.
It was a rare glimpse into the life of a fringe NHL prospect, specifically the moment he hears the verdict on a roster spot.
Sitting in front of Poile, biting his lip, Glass listened as the general manager evaluated his play.
“Last year, you didn’t make the team out of camp. But in the second half of the season, you were really good. You had a good summer,“ Poile said. “As you know, we’re going to go to Bern tomorrow night. We’re going to be taking you with us.“
A smile erased all tension on Glass’s face.
“It doesn’t stop here, I know," Glass said. “It’s just a good feeling.’’
Glass has learned that nothing will be handed to him.
