Fantasy Focus: Mining the waiver wire for top-unit defenders

We’re back.

Grab your shovels and axes and go mining for talent on the fantasy hockey waiver wire. By this point, you don’t need me constantly reminding you just how valuable the wire can be in your quest for greatness. 

But I still will.

The key is finding players who are in a positive situation in the lineup, either in the midst of a streak that you believe will last, or set up to begin a streak and make you look like a genius. Handling the weekly schedule is imperative - especially in daily start leagues where you can take advantage of a quiet night.

A reminder that the players featured in this piece are rostered in fewer than half of all Fantrax leagues… unless, of course, I feel like breaking that rule.
