Winter Classic notebook: DeBrusk powers Bruins comeback at Fenway

BOSTON — It seems like a million years ago now, but Jake DeBrusk asked for a trade in summer 2021. 

He didn't get moved, rescinded the ask, and now seems to be on the path to a career year.

In the third Winter Classic of his career, he scored both Boston goals in front of a sellout crowd of more than 39,000 fans at Fenway Park. The 2-1 win pushed the Bruins' home record to 19-0-3. They also don't have a regulation loss in the last 11 games (8-0-3).

DeBrusk, wearing a walking boot during the postgame press conference after taking a shot off the leg in the third period, shrugged off the pain. "That's the nature of the business at the front of the net," he said.
