We haven't been making enough of the year Jack Hughes is having. 

There's a couple of reasons for that. With some of the scoring numbers that are being casually posted around the league, we're almost becoming desensitized to offensive totals that would've seemed unimaginable a couple of years ago. These days, the bar you need to clear to genuinely capture people's attention is getting obscenely high. 

There's also the fact that the Devils as a group got plenty of coverage in the early going after they took the league by storm, but there were enough contributing factors to dilute the recognition going primarily to Hughes. They've since come back down to earth since then somewhat, enduring a bumpy 4-8-2 stretch in the past month of play. But while the team has been having a tougher go of it, t
