David Pastrňák is having the contract year of all contract years
There's no shortage of team stats for the Boston Bruins to demonstrate just how dominant they've been in the first half of the season.
They've already won 27 of their first 40 games in regulation, which is five more than anyone else. Their 32-4-4 record has them on track for a stunning 140 points, which would obliterate the 128 the Lightning had back in 2018-19 (which is an outrageous mark that I didn't think would matched in quite some time).
They've outscored opponents by 69 goals so far, while scoring both the second highest amount themselves, and giving up the fewest to the competition. They're in expected goal share at 5-on-5, second in power play scoring, and first in penalty kill suppression.
If there's a metric that matters, the Bruins are amongst the leaders in it.
That excellence
