Bo Horvat is having a career year, Vancouver needs to capitalize on that value
Amid the traveling carnival known as the 2022-23 Vancouver Canucks, a bright spot has been the once-in-a-career play of captain Bo Horvat.
As of this writing, Horvat has 29 goals, two off a career-high from last season.
He's on a full-season pace for 59 goals and 92 points, which would obliterate his previous watermarks by 28 and 31 respectively, and it’s come at a convenient time.
For the first time in his career, the 27-year-old is poised to become an unrestricted free agent this coming summer. In a market typically desperate for both high-end centres and leadership, Horvat is well-positioned to exceed his current salary by roughly the same rate that he’s outscoring his usual pace right now.
