NHL expected to hold preseason game in Australia

While it's yet to be finalized, the NHL is in the process of planning a preseason game before next season in Melbourne, Australia between the Los Angeles Kings and Boston Bruins. 

The NHL will likely make an announcement within the next couple weeks, sources told EP Rinkside. 

The league is careful about commenting or sharing anything about these events until all the paper work is signed, for example, the NHL and Toronto hadn't finalized and signed the final paper work for the 2024 NHL All-Star Game until just hours before the announcement at the 2023 All-Star Game. 

This preseason game will be another part of the NHL's global push, which has effectively re-started after the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The Kings have historically been a team highly willing to travel for international events, while the Bruins hold the Original Six cache and pull in international markets.
