Fantasy Focus: Mining the waiver wire with Anthony Beauvillier loving Vancouver and Ryan O'Reilly in Toronto

For those of us in leagues with two-week playoff matchups, this is the final week of the regular season.

Somehow the march up the mountain is nearly complete. Of course, the most vertically treacherous terrain still looms.

This week’s Mining the Waiver Wire column will focus almost exclusively on players who can help you this week and maybe even give you a boost in the postseason as well. But since I’m a giver, I’ll toss in a prospect who should be on everyone’s radar and should be scooped up by bottom-dwellers in keeper leagues.

Normally, this column features players who are rostered in fewer than half of all Fantrax leagues. However, this week, I’m going to up that bar to 60-ish percent in hopes of helping to isolate a potentially impactful piece that could be sitting on ice on your league’s wire waiting to be scooped up.
