Scout's Roundtable: Just how deep is the 2023 NHL Draft

We're little more than a week out from the 2023 NHL trade deadline, and the draft picks are already flying fast and furious. By my count (and this is subject to change at a moment's notice), eight picks have already changed hands, five of them in this year's draft.

So the pressing question now – whether you cheer for a rebuilding team accumulating this draft capital or a contending team parting with it – is just how valuable these picks are.

Everyone knows about the quality at the top of this draft. Between Connor Bedard, Adam Fantilli, Leo Carlsson, and Matvei Michkov, any team picking in the top four is getting a potential franchise building block, if not an outright superstar.
