What We Learned: Does anyone want to win the East Wild Card?

Look, I wouldn't want to play the Boston Bruins or Carolina Hurricanes, either. But someone has to.

The race for the two Wild Card spots in the East has been whittled down to three teams for quite some time now, but none of those teams have looked particularly interested in winning of late.

The Florida Panthers made a push for a little while there, but they've lost three straight by a combined score of 16-8. The Pittsburgh Penguins have lost five of the last seven. The New York Islanders just dropped consecutive games to the Blue Jackets and Sabres after a three-game winning streak seemed to set them up for an almost guaranteed playoff spot.
