The trade deadline is one of the biggest events in the NHL calendar, with fans from across the league picking apart the tiniest details of trades that have absolutely nothing to do with their favourite teams. The rumours, the intrigue, the debates about player quality, questions about how Player X will fit on Team Y, working out who “won” each trade – they're a huge part of the fun of being a fan.

But once the dust actually settles, we tend to lose interest or at least lose track of how those players are actually performing for their new teams (until they match up with our preferred squad in the playoffs, that is).
