Scout's Notebook: Four standout low-scoring WHL draft eligibles

For draft-eligible prospects, production matters. It’s an important indicator – higher scorers are generally poised for more scoring seasons in the future.
But production’s a consequence of environment. Quality of teammates matters a ton. As does coaching. Some players are afforded a level of freedom that others aren’t. Some have the tools for gaudy point totals but don’t refine them until their post-draft years.
As such, identifying a handful of prospects who could break out in their draft-plus seasons is always a fun test. Here are candidates from the WHL who appear outside Central Scouting’s top 100.
Vojtech Port, D, Edmonton Oil Kings
Edmonton was the WHL’s worst offensive team, scoring just 131 goals in 68 games (the next lowest scored 188). As such, Vojtech Port only scored 0.37 point
