Kyle Dubas out as Maple Leafs face summer full of questions
The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that they had "decided to part ways" with long-time GM Kyle Dubas.
There had been some speculation that he would return to his job, and even more that he might resurface elsewhere, though he quashed the latter earlier this week in saying that he would only be GM in Toronto, after consulting with his family.
Well now it appears as though the Leafs made that decision for him, seemingly choosing to simply not renew his expiring contract. In announcing this on May 19, that also gives them plenty of runway to work through all their options to hire someone well in advance of the NHL Draft, being held at the end of June.
