2023 Memorial Cup Preview

The 103rd Memorial Cup is set to begin Friday, May 25th in Kamloops, BC. The Kamloops Blazers (WHL) will host the event and are joined by the Quebec Ramparts (QMJHL), Seattle Thunderbirds (WHL), and Peterborough Petes (OHL).

Kamloops Blazers

The Kamloops Blazers come into the Memorial Cup as the host team but have also been sitting around for three weeks after losing to the Seattle Thunderbirds in a hard-fought WHL Western Conference final matchup. This is the seventh time the Blazers have participated in the CHL Championship and its second time hosting the event. The last time was in 1995 when the team won the whole thing with a roster featuring future NHL stars such as Jarome Iginla, Darcy Tucker, and Shane Doan.
