Stanley Cup Notebook: It's a pretty simple equation heading into Game 5

LAS VEGAS, Nevada – For both teams it's a pretty simple equation of what needs to happen on Tuesday in Game 5. 

The Vegas Golden Knights can win the Stanley Cup. Win at home, party on the strip. It’s that simple. 

The Florida Panthers can extend the NHL season, bringing the series back to Sunrise for Game 6. One game at a time isn’t just the mantra, it’s a necessity. 

Vegas has been on the opposite end of things. In 2018, their inaugural season the Stanley Cup was presented in Vegas after a Game 5 victory by the Washington Capitals. 

There are six Vegas players remaining from that original run, the group that will likely get the Cup after captain Mark Stone, while Chandler Stephenson was on the opposite end, celebrating a title with Washington in 2018.
