The dog days of summer have officially begun. The Draft is complete, free agency is nearly two weeks old, and all that’s left is for executives to head to their cabins and settle in for six weeks of lounging.
While we still have several potential deals that could shift the landscape if, or when, they occur, the movement we’ve witnessed thus far has provided us with a reasonable picture of how to conduct our fantasy hockey business this summer.
Matt Duchene to Dallas
In perhaps the signing of the offseason - on paper anyway, Dallas inked Matt Duchene to a one-year deal worth $3 million dollars. A day before the market opened, Nashville bought Duchene out of the final three years of his contract that paid him eight million annually.
