One year later, the Coyotes look like they made the right choice taking Logan Cooley over Shane Wright

Shane Wright falling to No. 4 at the 2022 NHL Draft was one of the biggest stories out of Montreal. 

Wright was the presumptive No. 1 pick for much of the season, but was passed over by the Montreal Canadiens, New Jersey Devils, and Arizona Coyotes. 

Montreal, who Wright stared down after finally getting selected by the Seattle Kraken, and New Jersey took the Slovakians Juraj Slafkovský and Šimon Nemec in that order. Arizona picked Logan Cooley at No. 3, a decision that was perhaps the biggest surprise for draft observers at the time. 

A year later, the Coyotes pick of Cooley seems much more justifiable. As the EP Rinkside scouts start looking at the top-100 prospects, we're higher on Cooley than Wright.
