Canadians prospect Jacob Fowler proving he belongs on Team USA at Summer Showcase
PLYMOUTH, Michigan – Montréal Canadiens prospect Jacob Fowler is used to being the outsider at USA Hockey Arena.
Over the past two seasons with the Youngstown Phantoms, he’s been a constant opponent for the United States National Team Development Program, winning six of his nine meetings against the NTDP this past season, including back-to-back victories in April, where he stopped 48 out of 50 shots in a two-game weekend sweep to close out the USHL regular season.
That performance was a precursor to Fowler’s dominant run through the USHL playoffs, where he led Youngstown to a Clark Cup title and won playoff MVP honors with a .952 save percentage and 1.36 goals against average in 9 postseason games.
