EP Rinkside 2023 NHL Prospect Pool Rankings: No. 6-ranked Arizona Coyotes

The slow and steady Arizona Coyotes rebuild continues apace, with another 12 prospects joining the organization in Nashville at the 2023 NHL Draft, a haul good enough to move them up two spots from last year's ranking at No. 8.

Pretty soon, Coyotes general manager Bill Armstrong is going to have a critical mass around that he can build a contending roster around if they're not there already. One could credibly build the case that they already have franchise calibre players in the fold with Logan Cooley and Dmitri Simashev.

How they build around those players will determine the fortunes of this franchise in the decade to come. Because it's one thing to strip the roster down to the studs and accumulate assets – and it's an assignment that Armstrong has taken to with unmatched vigour, to be clear – but it's another entirely to accumulate wins.

This system is much more than just its two best players, though, and the hope is that the sheer volume of prospects in their ranks will help them get there long-term. Next up, we get into the best it has to offer with scouting reports and tools grades.
