You might have seen on Twitter (or X, or whatever it’s called) that we are ramping things up here at EP Rinkside this season. 

After serving as an associate editor for the past year, I’m moving to a lead writer role. Basically, it’s a carte blanche position, where Editor-in-chief J.D. Burke has given me the keys to the car and said, “Go find interesting stories.”

It’s great, and while most stories will be NHL-focused, it also gives me the space to tell stories like the one we published yesterday on a growing college hockey program at Michigan State.

It also means I get this space each week to share a collection of stories, ideas, and musings about the NHL and hockey at large.
