Most prospects don’t make the NHL.
Many fail to live up to the gaudy expectations fans and teams placed upon them.
Development isn’t always linear either. Sometimes, players pull ahead of the curve only to fall behind it shortly after. Some lose components of their games as they adjust to new leagues or develop new ways to impact the game.
