Unnumbered Thoughts: The Vegas Golden Knights goalie tandem are off and rolling

Logan Thompson was an NHL All-Star last season. His .915 save percentage was tied for 11th in the league and even though he was fighting injury, in his final five appearances of the season he was on a stretch of stopping 148 out of 159 shots for the Vegas Golden Knights. 

By all accounts, he did his job. 

But Thompson’s injury changed the equation and opened up a life-changing opportunity for Adin Hill, who became the starter in the playoffs – after an injury to Laurent Brossoit – and became the team’s new No. 1 goalie when he was signed to a two-year contract extension after Vegas won the Stanley Stanley Cup.
