Film Room: How Hunter Brzustewicz mastered junior scoring, and what comes next

There are hot starts, and then there’s Hunter Brzustewicz’s start.

Picked in the middle of the third round mere months ago, the Vancouver Canucks prospect sits second in the OHL scoring, with a staggering 39 points in 22 games. He’s 11 points clear of the next closest blueliner and four points clear of the next closest forward.

At 1.77 points per game, Brzustewicz’s scoring at the second-fastest clip of any OHL blue-liner over the past 15 years.

Even if Brzustewicz slows down, his start has made one thing clear: He’s mastered junior scoring. He’s figured out a formula that future OHL players should look to replicate. But can he sustain this level of play? And how much does this affect his NHL outcome?

Let’s find out.
