AIC and RIT chasing Atlantic Hockey glory once again

SPRINGFIELD, Massachusetts – The American International hockey program has been among the most successful in the country since coach Eric Lang took over in 2016.

After a couple of shaky seasons, the Yellow Jackets won four straight Atlantic Hockey regular-season titles, and three straight postseason tournaments (there wasn't a playoff of any kind in 2019-20 due to COVID), and qualified for four consecutive NCAA tournaments. Last season, they hit a bit of a bump in the road, "only" winning 18 games.

In conference play, they have posted a record of 90-28-11 with a plus-168 goal difference since the start of the 2018-19 season and, not surprisingly, the Yellow Jackets tend to win Atlantic Hockey by comfortable margins.
